What's up Laguna! The summer gloom is finally breaking, so expect some real sun this week. The art festivals are still going strong, there's live music around town, and the World Cup final is on. Below you'll find this week's events, ways to give back, a couple of spots coming soon, the conditions, some local news, and a bit of Laguna lore.
All week
The handmade art festival across the street, 60 years running. Walk the booths, grab a drink, hear live music. Free for Laguna residents on Thursdays, bring ID.
The formal art show you walk through, 120 juried artists, plus live music on the grounds. Laguna Beach residents get in free with an ID.
A free bike pump track set up at the Rec Center. Weekday mornings and Saturdays, bring a bike, helmet, and pads.
Thursday 7/16
KXFM, the local radio station, hosts its summer vinyl series at the Willbo Ocean Clubhouse. DJs and hosts play records and drinks are available. First session of the season.
Live music on The Cliff's ocean-view patio over dinner and drinks at sunset.
Friday 7/17
A free midday party at the pop-up pump track, with popsicles, music, and crafts. Bring the kids and a bike.
Saturday + Sunday
Around town Sat + Sun
The 2026 World Cup final is Sunday. Catch the matches at Brussels Bistro, Wigz, or Hennessey's, all putting them up on every screen.
Sunday 7/19
Country and folk music on the Festival of Arts lawn, Sunday evening. It's included with festival admission, which is free for Laguna residents with ID.
Monday 7/20
A community potluck up at hilltop Alta Laguna Park, with big canyon and ocean views. Bring a dish to share, all Laguna residents welcome.
Weekday mornings
You'll sort donated food, bag groceries, and hand them out to those in need. Ages 14 and up (14 to 17 with an adult).
Saturday
A morning cleanup with the Chamber and Laguna Ocean Foundation. You'll pick up trash and litter along the cove. Bags and gloves provided, just show up.
You'll pull invasive weeds, plant natives, and clear trails out in the wilderness parks. Gloves and tools provided, just pick an upcoming Saturday.
Sunday
Drop off canned and dry food staples at the 10am Sunday service. They deliver it to local families in need through the Neighborhood Congregational Church. No signup, just bring a bag.
Ongoing
You'll help prep meals, feed rescued seals and sea lions, and clean their pens alongside the animal care team. Apply once, then take regular shifts. Ages 18 and up.
Surf
A small to moderate south swell, about waist high most of the week and building to around chest high by Sunday. Warm and fun, cleanest in the morning.
Weather
The gloom finally breaks. Real sun midweek and Saturday, highs in the low 80s, with a little gray creeping back on the edges. Water is warm, upper 60s.

Crowds

Local Wildlife
Blue whale and dolphin season is peaking just offshore. Bring binoculars to the Heisler bluffs and you can spot spouts right from the cliffs.
